The ideal candidate is nurturing, confident, enthusiastic, compassionate, and passionate about children. He/she takes direction well to implement the AMI philosophy faithfully. Assistant candidates would have experience with 3 to 6 year old or 6 to 12-year-old children and some understanding and an interest in the Montessori philosophy. AMI training is not required but preferred, and this is an ideal situation for someone in training to be an AMI Elementary teacher, traditional Elementary teacher, psychologist, or reading specialist. Our lead guides are experienced and wonderful people to learn from! A candidate with some area of specialty or interest (language, music, art, sports, tinkering, etc.) would be a positive addition to the class.
